Had endoscopy first thing this morning. My ulcer appears to have healed. Nisse went to her new home last night so I have one less puppy, six more to find homes for. Dancing with the Stars tonight…..YeeHaw!!!! I’ll finally meet with my neurologist Wednesday afternoon.

Just a quick update on recent medical stuff…..
Anti-Seizure Medication: I’m doing well on Keppra (1500 mg/2x daily) – no seizure activity, fatigue and mental clarity have improved.
Anemia: Bloodwork results have come back and I am anemic again – need to be sure to take my iron every day.
Ulcer: Sucralfate seems to be [...]

So here’s the latest in the long list of physical challenges that I’m dealing with….
I just got off the phone with my G.I. nurse. Earlier this week when I went in for endoscopy, they discovered an ulcer and took a biopsy. “The good news”, she said “is that there is no sign of [...]

Just a brief update on today’s activities….
Woke up early this morning to take care of the dogs before going in to have my esophagus stretched and discovered that Ava was in labor…..four days early!
Frantically arranged whelping area (had intended to do it this afternoon after “guest puppies” had gone home) and then took care [...]

It would be nice if I could get sick when it’s most convenient for my doctors….
On May 24th I had my second grand mal seizure this year….I was officially diagnosed with epilepsy. My neurologist prescribed Dilantin, an AED with a long history, generally well tolerated. I, however, didn’t tolerate it very well. [...]

I’ve had several hits on my blog over the last few days from people searching for information about partial gastrectomies and esophagus stretching…..so I thought that I would share an update.
My partial gastrectomy in early October removed a third of my stomach and my vagus nerve, which ran through my tumor, was cut. Two [...]

Today’s Flickr photo is from Laudes, Italy…near the Swiss and Austrian borders.
It’s been a busy day so far. I had Maya at the airport at 9:00 this morning. She’ll be spending a few days in southern California, lucky girl! It’s cold and wet here….I wish that I was going with her!
My weekly [...]

The picture above is the Singapore Flyer….similar to the London Eye. Friends of mine are in Singapore at the moment and spent the day at the National Museum and on the Singapore Flyer. They had a great time and it’s nice to be able to picture where they’re at.
My day was less……ummmm….well, [...]

I’ll begin this post with thanks to Bev Davies-Fraser (Waskasoo Kennel Reg’d in Alberta, Canada). Bev sent me this photo today and it seemed so appropriate for the first day of December. Snow is rare in Seattle but the beagles always have such a good time playing in it when it does come. [...]

……at least, it seems that way. Yesterday I saw my naturopath and we cut back on my supplements. I’ll gradually add them back, one per week, and hopefully we can identify which, if any, are causing me to feel fatigued. After seeing the naturopath, I grabbed a cup of soup for [...]
