Have you ever thought of training one of your Beagle pups to be a medical watch dog? I saw a movie last night in which a man had Epilepsy and he had a medical trained dog who allerted him when he was going to have a seizure. I know this is not fiction, Beagles have a good sense of smell so it might be something to look into.
Hope all is well with you and your new medication will be a good solution.
Take care, looking foward to your new blog.

It is funny what sets us off but it was the last straw for you!

Anyway, I chew on crystalized ginger because of chronic nausea which you probably already heard about.

Carrie -

Have you tried Jasmine green tea? There are 2 brands that are very good and carried both by Uwajimaya in Renton and at the Great Wall Mall on East Valley (not always there).

Hi Carrie;
I ran across your blog as I am getting myself mentally ready for my 1st infusion of R-VP tomorrow. What I am writing you about is that I have epilepsy also, and have had it since I was 18, I'm now 59. Like you, it was idiopathic, no known reason. So, in college I started that walk. Yes, you have to say goodbye to alcohol, even high dose caffeine sometimes, but the only times I had troulbe was when I steopped my medicine or had my daughter. The reason why the seizure at the second occurance was lack of sleep, poor nutrition (my daughter breast fed like a beast) and stress. Typical new parent stuff. So, decades later, those are the things I watch for now.

I have followed you blog since you started it in 2007. I ran across you when I was looking for a beagle but at the time you did not have any for sale and was putting it on hold for the time being. You would cross my mind often and I would jump onto your blog that I had marked as one of my favorites and see how you were doing. Some days I cried for you and other days I smiled and was thankful that you were doing better. I always enjoyed your fantastic ability to put your thoughts and feelings into words. The pictures you post are out of this world and I have tried many a recipe that you have suggested. I also agree with the rest of the post...write a book and I will be there to buy one.

I will miss not being able to pop in and check on you but understand your ending this part of the journey. I wish you all the best and I will continue to pray and think of you often! God Bless!
