I haven’t slept well for the last few nights….and counting sheep hasn’t helped! I’m anemic again. Low iron levels mean low levels of oxygen in my blood…..leading to shortness of breath, insomnia, dizziness, and headaches.
Ordinarily, the recommended daily iron intake for a woman my age is 18 mg. I take 225 mg…….on an empty stomach, with vitamin C…..to aid absorption……and still, I’m anemic.
On a funny note……on my blog stats page this morning, I learned that one of the search engine terms that led to my blog yesterday was “symptoms of overly intense exercise”. I have NO IDEA why my blog would be listed when someone “googles” this!
…..and finally…..Hooray for Kristi Yamaguchi, winner of Dancing with the Stars last night! Woo Hoo!!!!!
……but Helio is still my favorite! 😉
Later that day…..
I went to my oncologist this afternoon to do bloodwork and my “iron numbers” came back at the very bottom of the normal range…….an improvement over last week’s labs. I’m not sure what is causing the shortness of breath but I have some meds to help me get some sleep tonight.
